Medical Support Command

med-2
Recent events have proven that in times of need, recourses must be called upon from outside of the affected disaster area. Our goal is to expand and strengthen our ability to respond to these emergencies through a cadre of trained volunteers.

Members of the public are invited to become part of this organized effort to help our community in disaster response by joining the Medical Support Command.
The MSC is an all volunteer, not for profit organization, incorporating all levels of emergency medical response. In order to support our medical personnel, we need to have the necessary support assets — Administration, Intelligence, Operations and Training, Logistics, Finance, Legal functions, Communications and Security, to mention just a few.

Our mission is to provide emergency medical response when the need exceeds that of the local responders.

Who Can Volunteer

MSC-NDR volunteers come from all facets of private business, industry and government and have varying credentials, capabilities and professional experience. This includes: Medical and public health professionals such as physicians, nurses, pharmacists, emergency medical technicians, dentists and veterinarians as well as chaplains, logistics experts, communications specialists, engineers, interpreters and many other specialties. Virtually all professions and skills are needed.

Membership Requirements

Personnel who desire to be deployed must complete appropriate federal applications and successfully pass a federal (DHS) background investigation.

Interference With Your Regular Job: Commitments should not interfere with usual employment. Disasters, of course, are not scheduled and potential members should determine if their job will allow them to be available in the event of a major disaster.
